Roger T. Flora

Major Roger T. Flora is awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-130B Navigator near Hue, Republic of Vietnam on 3 October 1970. On that date Major Flora flew four tactical emergency airdrop missions through severe weather conditions and hostile fire to deliver badly needed supplies to beleaguered ground forces. Even though the weather was so bad that friendly helicopters were unable to land in the area, Major Flora was able to successfully place all four loads on the drop zone to complete the mission. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Flora reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
