During this period, Captain Drost performed, under exceptional conditions, flights which were of the greatest importance to the United States Air Force. The effectiveness and courage exhibited by him in the accomplishment of these missions, under extremely hazardous flight conditions, ably demonstrated Captain Drost’s outstanding proficiency and steadfast devotion to duty. In the performance of these missions, he has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Drost for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flights from 8 February 1958 to 8 May 1958. The effectiveness and courage exhibited by Captain Drost in the accomplishment of these missions, under exceptional conditions, ably demonstrated his proficiency and steadfast devotion to duty. In the performance of these missions of vital significance to the United States he has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
