- Harold T. Eggleston, Jr.
The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Chief Warrant Officer Two Harold T. Eggleston, Jr., for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight on 4 December 2005. He exhibited superb airmanship, composure, and extraordinary decisiveness in the Shah Walki Kot District, north of Kandahar, Afghanistan. Chief Warrant Officer Two Eggleston provided critical command and control, enemy marking, and casualty evacuation to a ground force that was engaged by a surprised, but determined, enemy. His actions greatly contributed to the destruction of that enemy. Chief Warrant Officer Two Eggleston’s achievement and selfless commitment are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the Combined Joint Task Force 76, and the United States Army.
